How it works

Conventional approaches whereby the printing blanket is connected to the bar mechanically involve the use of sharpedged claw-type components. However, when these bars are pressed into the blanket, these claws actually weaken the overall structure and can lead to premature tear offs.

PRO ZIP avoids damaging the printing blanket in this way. This is achieved through using offset clamping elements with a precisely defi ned angle and radius. These gently penetrate the printing blanket in a similar manner to a zip fastener system. The structure of the blanket is not damaged in this process. In fact, a series of tests performed on the PRO ZIP have determined that the amount of force required to tear the bar from the blanket greatly exceed anything found in the pressroom.
